My goal is for every student to be successful.  The purpose of Practical Writing is to coach students so that they can be more successful on the English 2 End of Course exam (EOC).

Most students in my class have taken the English 2 EOC more than one time, so I review their most recent test score with them and we discuss what they need to do in order to improve their score and ultimately to pass the test.  For most students, the reading portions of the test are where the students fall short. In class, we work on reading comprehension and understanding what the questions are actually asking. In addition, we work on the self-discipline required to stay on task and actually read, regardless to the personal interest level of the passages because the bottom line is, “if they don’t read, they won’t pass.”  We also work on writing persuasive essays (required on the English 2 EOC).

Please feel free to contact me if you have questions or suggestions to help me assist your student.
