DeAnna Elgin - English I
Welcome to English I! I’m excited to begin my first year in WISD with you in our new building. It’s going to be a year of trial and error as we learn to navigate our way around the school and the school rules.
My family and I live in Midlothian. I have a son that attends the University of Colorado at Boulder, and a daughter that is in the 7th grade at Walnut Grove Middle School. We have two fur babies, a Boxer named Emmitt and a Basset Hound named Roscoe. My husband and I are TX transplants, both of us being born and raised in TN. I graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 2006, returning to graduate school for my Masters in Education for Curriculum and Instruction-Literacy from University of Texas at Arlington in 2016.
I am beginning my 7th year of teaching English in public schools, I taught six years in Grand Prairie ISD. This will be my fourth year teaching ENG I.
Your student’s success is important to me and to WISD. I have several different avenues that will allow you or your student to get in touch with me in school or after school. Please take the time to add my remind account so that you can keep up with your student’s assignments, or any important information that I send out.
