I completed my Masters from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia in Curriculum and Instruction for Multilingual/Multicultural Education. I obtained my BA from the University of Texas at Tyler in History and Spanish Education. As an undergrad and grad student, I studied abroad in Mexico, Spain, and Costa Rica. During my life, I've also visited most of western Europe, the United States, and many Caribbean islands. My next goal is travel in South America and Australia.
There are many aspects of Spanish culture that I enjoy sharing in the classroom - the language, music, cuisine, art, architecture and much more :) My philosophy for learning is to facilitate the achievement of a second language through use of comprehensible input and storytelling and to prepare students to function effectively in real world situations. I believe in hands-on experiences and active learning with creativity using both individual and partner practices. With this being said, I have prepared my curriculum accordingly and I’m really looking forward to another fun–filled and educational year!
